Marwa Y. El Kendri
Psychology Consultant
As the Psychology Consultant for Discipln dept., Marwa functions as a behavioral architect, responsible for embedding cognitive science into the brand’s minimalist ecosystem. Her role is to translate complex psychological principles, such as identity-based habit formation and implementation intentions, into tangible features for journals, apparel, and digital tools. By auditing product designs for cognitive friction, she ensures that every product and service Discipln. offering reduces decision fatigue and empowers the user to move from extrinsic motivation to a permanent, intrinsic state of discipline.
Beyond product design, her role is centered on community diagnostics and strategic evaluation. She identifies the specific modern distractions, such as digital overstimulation and the "urgency trap"—that hinder the community's progress. She is responsible for developing frameworks that help users navigate the psychological resistance of "The Dip" while ensuring the brand’s methodology avoids the pitfalls of toxic productivity. Ultimately, she bridges the gap between high-fashion aesthetics and mental performance, ensuring the community doesn't just look disciplined, but possesses the psychological infrastructure to remain so.
Education.
She began her academic journey at University of Glasgow in (Scotland), where she developed an early interest in human behavior and forensic psychology, exploring the psychological factors that influence decision-making, accountability, and behavior under pressure. She later earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge (CSUN), an institution widely recognized for its rigorous and comprehensive psychology department. During her time at CSUN, she engaged in a curriculum with a strong emphasis on both theoretical research and practical behavioral application, further refining her interest in forensic psychology while developing advanced analytical and critical thinking skills. This academic foundation provided her with the expertise to evaluate human behavior, habit formation, and modern distractions, ensuring that her contributions to Discipln. are grounded in proven psychological frameworks, behavioral science, and academic excellence.
